Proposal Writer-Remote

Role

As a Proposal Writer at CaptureWrite, you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team, providing hands-on support to compose and submit winning proposal responses. Partnering closely with executives, business development, capture managers and SMEs, you will analyze, review, and craft compelling proposal sections for various government solicitations. Your proactive approach will ensure successful milestone achievement and your expertise will help align responses with client requests.

Responsibilities

To excel in this role, you should have experience analyzing solicitation requirements and creating compliant responses to government solicitations.

  • Here are the key responsibilities:
    Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and comprehend technical information and requirements
  • Create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation that effectively communicates complex information
  • Develop and maintain a consistent style guide and templates for technical documentation
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established standards in all written materials
  • Participate in peer reviews and color reviews, providing valuable feedback to enhance the quality of documentation
  • Research, write, and edit proposals in response to government solicitations such as sources sought, RFI, RFP, and RFQ
  • Analyze proposal requirements, develop outlines, and coordinate with technical and management teams to gather necessary information
  • Collaborate with SMEs, program managers, and stakeholders to articulate the value proposition and ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Edit and proofread proposals for clarity, coherence, and adherence to established guidelines

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficiency in using documentation and collaboration tools such as
  • Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with proposal development processes, including capture planning, proposal outlines,
    and compliance matrices (Shipley or APMP)
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of government contracting, including familiarity with

    Proposal Content Editor-Remote

    Role

    The Proposal Content Editor is responsible for style guide, copy editing, and One Voice editing, including developing alternate content and modification of current content to incorporate compelling win themes developed in accordance with customer goals where necessary to effectively frame a proposal. Reviews and edits graphics, pictures, tables, and develops action captions to align proposal sections across various writers and writing styles, ensuring a seamless response for the customer. Responsible for providing proofreading and copy editing support for business development/proposal writing team with complex materials in addition to helping establish guidelines and educating staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures accuracy of materials produced by writing team and compliance with client, brand, legal and plain language guidelines.
    • Effects changes to written work and provides copy editing support in addition to proofreading high-profile design and copywriting projects.
    • Helps establish guidelines by recommending updates to the Client, Brand, Legal and Plain Language guidelines.
    • Educates internal and external writers and designers on updates to the Client, Brand, Legal and Plain Language guidelines.
    • Maintains strict adherence to marketing/production deadlines and provides final sign-off on projects at file release stage to ensure accuracy.
    • Identifies, recommends, and facilitates improvement/efficiencies that support operational excellence.
    • Provides guidance and mentors other proofreaders.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

    • Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

    • Strong written communication skills and a solid command of the English language strongly preferred.

    • Working knowledge of Associated Press style guidelines preferred.
